What is Schizochytrium sp.?
Once and for all, Fermentalg has harvested from a mangrove a strain of microalgae (micro-organism) capable of synthesizing the highest natural DHA content on the market. With no impact on the biosphere, this sustainable, non-GMO resource makes it possible to supply naturally rich omega-3 oils year-round, with full traceability from microalgae to barrel.

A sustainable and innovative production process
1. Selection: Fermentalg carefully identifies and selects high-potential microalgae (e.g. 𝑆𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑧𝑜𝑐ℎ𝑦𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑢𝑚 𝑠𝑝.), which are then cultivated under sterile, ultra-controlled conditions.
2. Fermentation culture: selected micro-organisms are grown in bioreactors, where they develop and multiply thanks to an optimized culture medium. This is where the magic happens, with particular attention paid to temperature, oxygen and other parameters to promote optimal growth.
3. Extraction: the molecules of interest contained in these micro-organisms are extracted using chemical-free processes. Depending on the strain of microalgae used, these active ingredients can range from omega-3 fatty acids to natural pigments and plant proteins.
4. Versatile application: Fermentalg’s fermentation products are used in a multitude of applications, from functional foods and nutritional supplements to cosmetics and even green energy.
